A Great Day of Golf

On June 20, 2016, the DDRC and the Earl Grey Golf Club hosted the 36^th annual Vipond Charity Golf Classic. Since 1981, this tournament has raised more than two million dollars in support of the DDRC’s clients and services. The proceeds from this event go toward funding various DDRC programs and projects, and help improve the quality of life of individuals with developmental disabilities.

We could not have asked for better weather as we kicked off the tournament with a delicious lunch enjoyed by the players and our volunteers. We had nothing but blue skies and sunshine as the teams made their way through the course. The day ended with a fantastic dinner, where we announced the winning team who will be representing the Earl Grey Golf Club at the Vipond Finals in Vancouver this summer.

We want to thank the Earl Grey Golf Club, the Earl Grey Vipond Committee, the players, and all of the volunteers who helped make this golf tournament a success. Take a look at some of our favourite photos from the event:

Vipond Charity Golf Classic: Registration Deadline Extended

Vipond Golf 2015 The registration deadline for the 36^th annual Vipond Charity Golf Classic has been extended to fill the last few spots. Don’t miss out on a great golf tournament for a great cause on June 20.

The entry fee is $300 per person, or $1,100 for a team of four. Registration forms are available at www.ddrc.ca/vipond, or you can contact us by email at vipond@ddrc.ca to learn more about the Vipond Earl Grey Charity Golf Classic. Team DDRC Crosses the Finish Line

On Sunday, May 29, Team DDRC participated in the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon. Whether walking, running, or cheering everyone on, we worked to raise awareness about inclusion and to fund our children’s book. The team had a blast, and would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

It’s almost time for our casino fundraiser! Come lend a hand at one of our biggest fundraising events of the year on June 27 and June 28. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of volunteers like you to provide top-quality programs, resources, and services to our clients.

Golf for a Good Cause!

On June 20, 2016, the DDRC and the Earl Grey Golf Club will host the 36^th annual Vipond Charity Golf Classic. Since 1981, this tournament has raised more than two million dollars in support of the DDRC.

Vipond Golf 2015 The format of the Vipond Classic is a play-your-own-ball, best 3 of 4 Stableford points tournament. Along with an exciting day of golf at the beautiful Earl Grey course, participants receive a player gift and the chance to win great prizes. Lunch and dinner will both be provided.

The winning team will have the opportunity to represent Earl Grey at the Western Vipond Finals on August 12 to 14, 2016, at the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, B.C.

The entry fee is $300 per person, or $1,100 for a team of four. The deadline to register is June 1, 2016.

Help Team DDRC Teach Children about Inclusion!

The Calgary Marathon is on May 29, and we’re looking for your support! Team DDRC is hoping to meet a fundraising goal of $10,000 to print and distribute an educational children’s book created by the DDRC.

Everyone Belongs: A Guide to Developmental Disabilities uses fun and interactive activites to introduce children to the concepts of disabilities and inclusion. It is designed to be completed by children in class with their teacher and peers, or at home with their parents or guardians. The purpose of this resource is to raise awareness about developmental disabilities, and to encourage children to remember that everyone belongs in our communities.
